Before the Break Framework

You don't have to decide today. BUT, you're tired of spiraling at 2am...avoiding your bank account and hoping this will somehow fix itself.

This is not about pushing you toward divorce. It’s about preparing from strength instead of panic.

If you are here, you already know something isn't right. You're just not ready to blow your life up. Before the Break is for this exact phase. This is how you:

  • calm the panic so you can think clearly
  • understand your real numbers without shutting down and prepare quietly without forcing a decision.

Preparing does not mean filing. It means understanding your options.

Why I Created Before the Break

I didn’t create this because I love talking about divorce.

I created it because I was the woman spiraling at 2am.

I didn’t know my numbers.
I didn’t understand what lawyers actually did.
I avoided my bank account because it made my chest tighten.

I made emotional decisions just to make the anxiety stop.

What I needed wasn’t someone telling me to “be strong.”

I needed someone to say:

Slow down.
Calm your body first.
Look at the real numbers.
Prepare quietly.

So I built the structure I wish I had. I’ve also since trained in nervous system regulation so I could teach this clearly and practically, not just emotionally.

You deserve to approach this from stability. Not survival mode.

The Before the Break Framework

Step 1: Stabilize the Body
Calm the racing thoughts so you can think clearly.

Step 2: See the Numbers Clearly
Know your monthly solo number.
Calculate your runway.
Separate shared and personal assets.

Step 3: Prepare Without Escalation
Learn how to gather information without blowing things up.
Walk into conversations steady.

Calm first.
Clarity second.
Strategy last.

Let’s Address What You’re Probably Thinking

“What if I’m overreacting?”

Preparation never harms you. Panic does.

“What if I don’t end up leaving?”

Then you’ll be stronger inside your marriage instead of anxious inside it.

“What if he finds out?”

This is private. Quiet. Strategic.

“I’m not ready to talk to a lawyer.”

Good. This helps you prepare before that moment.

The Cost of Doing Nothing

If nothing changes:

You keep reacting.
You keep avoiding the numbers.
You keep making emotional decisions.
You keep shrinking in conversations.
You keep losing sleep.

And eventually, you make a rushed decision just to make the anxiety stop.

That’s expensive.

Financially.
Emotionally.
Legally.

Imagine This Instead

You wake up and your chest isn’t tight.

You know your monthly solo number.

You know how long you could support yourself.

You’ve looked at your accounts without shutting down.

You’re not scared of a lawyer’s office because you understand the landscape.

You’re not escalating arguments because you’re steady.

You’re not reacting.

You’re prepared.

That’s stability before strategy.

You don't need to decide anything today. You just need to stop making panic-based decisions. This is the first step toward feeling steady again.
